Tonight in Washington DC, a diverse group of kinky people assembled, grabbed their bags full of devices and gathered in a discreet location.

Rope Dojo will be in Washington DC this weekend for those looking for experience and training in rope bondage. Since I am a novice to this particular art, I went to this evening’s class- “Kinethetic Rope: Dynamic Passionate Play.” This essentially was an opportunity for people like me who were new to rope play to experience techniques in Dominance/Submission with the use of rope, but without the use of a single knot.

Most of the folks who showed up were coupled, but luckily there was another odd-man-out there.

Parts of the session had to do with pre-play partner-assisted stretching. With the help of Mark, a very nice man with a length of jute rope (I bought a nice length of heavy nylon rope), we took turns using the leverage of our bodies to control each other, stretch, move about a space, and put and be put into submissive poses.

Definitely very entertaining and informative. I learned a lot in a very short time, including that I have an interest in binding. I bought a very cool book called “The Seductive Art Of Japanese Bondage” that the presenter, Midori,  very graciously signed for me. (awesome. :))

So now while I watch TV, I’ll be softening up my rope and practicing my knots. 🙂
