The gallery reception was last night and in my opinion, a fantastic success. People came out on a dreary Autumn evening to enjoy some dirty, dirty artwork and to partake of lovingly prepared food. I had a table set up in the middle of the gallery with flat-priced drawings. This allowed people a chance to flip through the collection and have more of an interactive experience with the artwork.
I served a Ginger Rye Punch with frozen peaches, Pork loin stuffed with apples and dried cherries, Short Ribs in mole, Barbecue Pulled chicken, Tequila shrimp in a cilanto garlic cream sauce, a raw vegetable platter, an apple pie, a pear pie, dinner rolls and a cheese plate.
People came for the art, ate, drank and hung around through the duration of a very long reception.
It was a great night. I sold a few pieces too. 🙂 One on the wall. Most from the table.
