Tonight’s session, our model was a tatooed and pierced fuzzy-burly man. I somehow managed to hide my kit from myself last week. Found it once I got home, but wound up having to take a medium I don’t like to session: Pastels. Dry, messy powder on my fingers, imprecise lines. And then they get everywhere. Not fun when clothed. Definitely not fun when drawing naked.
However, it was good to break convention a bit and work on some technique I haven’t used in a while.
Here are tonight’s sketches…
pity u dont like using pastels, i find these ones u drew very appealing. and shows up the shapes of the subjects so much better.
Thanks. I appreciate the comment. I’m using some pastel and slightly different technique. You should be able to tell the difference. Thanks again.
hi, i have noticed u using a lot of pastel since, and am glad that u are doing so. i think u are using it as a highlight which i think is perfect in figure drawing. it gives a 3D effect and imparts a roundness and solidity , which is perfect for depicting muscles and such.
