Today, I built my fire and offered up libations. The Universe responded with a perfect C- note emitting from the fire, likely a whistle from a wet burning log, for a sustained 10 seconds. The Universe apparently likes fire and libations.
In an age where “Religion” has been co-opted by Politics and greed, it may be time to seek out some new “old” ways. It may be time to turn off our televisions and glowing screens now, walk out of our churches and mosques and synagogues and again and listen to the quiet inner voice inside ourselves. The one that is always in tune with the Universe. The one that is not built of desire for the shiny and the new. The one that is Old. I’m sure this sounds nutty to some and it will and to those I say that’s fine. But others of you will know exactly what I’m talking about. This will resonate with some of you. Some of you will seek out groups. Others, like me, will follow our solitary paths and occasionally share with you. I do not advocate worship of anything for the sake of rote, or the following of tradition, or walking blind paths, hating people and things and ideas because the leaders of faith advocate hatred of people and things and ideas because they fear people and things and ideas that do not fit inside their narrow definition of “normal.”
I dare you to step outside your comfort zone. I dare you to go somewhere tonight you’ve been thinking about but keep finding external reasons not to move forward. I dare you to taste new tastes. I dare you to seek out new sensations.
If there is a God, I’m pretty sure if he created Adam and Eve and put them in a garden where all they had to do was eat, sleep, and fuck, that he’s not going to fault you for giving into your basest hedonistic urges as long as you do no harm, bring pleasure if you can’t bring love, and leave what you started improved by your actions and energies.
Dig in. 🙂
