Do you, when the package arrives and its not as advertised, say “not interested” and calmly close the door, leaving a crushed but wiser human being on the other side of the door? Wiser for knowing that someone will not tolerate the deception of a years old picture, when the package was not as ordered. Or do you accept the package, not in the condition it was ordered, taking time to examine the intricate details that were not included in the ad, getting to know and finding the human being inside the package of stats, and likes and dislikes. The pictures taken to show off the good attributes and hide all of the unflattering ones.

All of these things pass in a flicker, as the eyes assess the package and decide whether to turn the key in the lock to admit entry, or turn on heel and have a solitary glass of wine on a cold winter’s night.
